WOOD BORING AND PESTIFEROUS BEETLES

Family Bostrichidae (Powderpost beetles)

The beetles belonging to the family Bostrichidae attack living trees and furniture. They are called Powderpost beetles due to the boring larvae producing a very fine dust (Borror et al. 1981). The beetles are elongate in shape and 2-15 mm in length.
