ORDER ARCHAEOGASTROPODA


Limpets, ormers or abalones and topshells browse on algae. Their shells are lined with mother of pearl and usually lack an operculum. In many, the shell is only coiled in the juvenile stage; the adult shell consists of a single large expanded whorl.
