Cuttlefish

Cuttlefish like Sepia officinalis and Sepiola spp. tend to have short broad and flattened bodies. Although versatile swimmers they are not as mobile as the more streamlined squids. The shell of a cuttlefish provides buoyancy, which can be varied by regulating the amounts of fluid and gas contained in spaces between the thin septa.
