ORDER DECAPODA


This order is the largest crustacean order and includes the crabs, lobsters, crayfish, prawns and shrimps. The name derives from the five pairs of walking legs. Decapods are classoified according to the extent to which the abdomen is bent or reflexed beneath the thorax. Our specimens are displayed in four groups:
