INFRADIVISION OSTEOGLOSSOMORPHA: ELEPHANT FISH

The 220 species of ‘bony tongues’ have most of their teeth on their tongues. They are mostly African freshwater fish possessing sensory and electric organs as a special adaptation to nocturnal activity in murky waters.
